Our Solera system creates a whisky that's completely unique. By marrying 15 year old whiskies matured in sherry, bourbon and new oak casks in our large hand-crafted oak Solera Vat, Brian Kinsman, our Malt Master, has created an exceptionally rich, complex and harmonious malt.

Our Solera Vat has never been less than half full since we pioneered the system in 1998, giving our Glenfiddich 15 Year Old deep and complex layers of warm spice, honey and rich fruit, flavours that have made us the world's most awarded single malt.

William Grant, our founder, hand-built our distillery with the help of his family in 1887, naming it Glenfiddich, Gaelic for Valley of the Deer. He also established our signature style, taking a high cut point from his small stills, a tradition his family still continues five generations later. Today, our stag symbol represents William's pioneering spirit.
