Did you know that...?
In the Indian culture, turmeric is associated with fertility and at weddings it is a custom for the groom to tie a rope which has been inmpregnated with turmeric around the bride's neck. Besides that, this spice is also used to decorate the wedding plates at the reception. The use of turmeric is common as a natural dye, and, for example, buddhist monks use it to dye their robes.
